The stories within Legend of Song de Light
connect, unfold, interweave many character's stories
needs, feelings, desires, dreams
their threads as two crescent moons
connected under the firelights
that layer the chords, and form the lyrics
all of you entered my world as dawn's awakening sky of soft palette
my garnet heart melted in iridescence to bloom in sun's rays
glow in night's depth as the stars echo the rhythm of my heart
my insides sigh and expand in delight
harmonious blend as our lives
circle the melody
And, recorded in my voice with a blend of music like a heart's wave into downloadable mp3 files.

I knew after listening to the audio poem Ancient Script of Lovecontu that I would be treated to one of the most melodic and soothing voices that I have yet to experience.
If you couple that voice with the descriptive language in which the author creates this book of intimate passions, you have what will soon become one of your favorite audio books. The author effectively draws you into each character's scene and sets them (the characters) up individually and as a unit. You are allowed to discover their personalities and passions. I found myself envisioning each room, each touch and each emotion the author pulled out of her characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this work and you will as well. Excellent book I really loved it.
Right off, I’d like to establish that I’ll try to be careful not to give away any spoilers. Kaitlynzq’s storytelling technique in Legend of Song de Light is quite unique. In a way, the method the author uses reminds me of Samuel Richardson’s Pamela, or Virtue Rewarded (the first romance novel ever written, which was told in a series of letters). Yet the differences are vast. History is sprinkled through the book, but just as many modern narratives exist. There is an artistic take on fiction, heightened by the effects of poetry, photography and ballet expressed in each tale. And with the frame narrative – story within a story technique – this multifaceted method keeps the book intriguing. So many characters pop up in this audiobook, but at least for me, Kamille and Kessington stand out the most.
It is hard not to get drawn into the other stories of different characters told through journal and entries and letters found in the lighthouse. With touches of saxophone, banjo, flute, piano, violin, and harp separating each subject change, a scatter of birds – including seagulls – and waves ease you into each scene. The book contains vivid imagery, dreams, dances, and distinct voices, with a sense of self-acceptance – something we should all take to heart. In light of the love angles, dramatic tension, and poetic, musical style, it is also rather easy to see why this is categorized as a literary romance.
My impression? There were a lot of time shifts, which caused some disorientation. For me one of the stories was a tad unresolved – a couple was separated by violent circumstances and the reader can assume they never found each other again, being in different lands. I was also curious to find out what the investigators thought overall about what they learned from their discoveries at the lighthouse, especially since the initial narrator was clearly established in many of the chapters. No such luck.
Still, I enjoyed the stories told in Legend of Song de Light, and found the characters relatable. I connected with Kamille, and kept rooting for her. I hope you will too!
Kaitlynzq puts together a magnificent "song" with her words of Legend of Song de Light. The audiobook gives the listener a treat to hear it told in the author's words. Filled with emotions, wishes and dreams, the imagination of her world opens up to its audience. The music in the background was chosen perfectly as it almost danced around her words. A wonderful way to share heartfelt thoughts and imagination. The narrative was soft and inviting. A wonderful story, indeed, something so simple as a lighthouse, bringing light to its island, can turn into something wonderful. I look forward to reading or listening to more by this author.
Legend of Song de Light interweaves six love stories across the ages through the use of recordings, letters, journal entries, and poems of the twelve main characters, who are all artists of some nature. The elements are presented out of order, and we need to piece the story together like a puzzle in order to uncover the origin of the mysterious pink glow of the Lighthouse Finnir on the Island of Glotu that "provides a sweet melodic hum that caresses the island throughout the evening. The legend of how this glowing beauty came to exist is just as unique as the glow herself."
I haven't been able to concentrate on audiobooks before, but this one is designed to be listened to, and it tells. The author narrates her own book in a rich, melodic voice, while musical interludes corresponding to each character are interposed between sections.
This stunningly original composition is heartbreaking yet uplifting and not to be missed.
Warnings: domestic violence, sexual references, sex scenes, coarse language, rape.
I received this audiobook in return for an honest review.
